2021 Treasure Road Gutsy Challenge
Join our premier Gutsy Family Adventure!
2021 will see our inaugural Gutsy Family Adventure take place. Treasure Road Gutsy Challenge gives your family the opportunity to enjoy a unique, affordable and fun filled family holiday in support of Gastro-Intestinal (GI) cancer research, while also providing much needed support to rural towns devastated by the bushfires.
Register your interest by filling in our form at the bottom of this page.
From 20th – 24th September 2021, participants in this family friendly Gutsy Challenge will hit the road and raise much needed funds and awareness for GI cancer in a way that’s never been done before.
Starting in Sydney and finishing at a secret location near Dubbo, this fundraising event is a road trip with a twist.
At the beginning of each day the Treasure Road kids will decipher the clue to the next location and once successful, they will receive a sticker for their ‘passport’.
This Gutsy Challenge will also bring business back to local towns who will have started to rebuild after the bushfires. They will welcome the travellers on arrival and provide food, entertainment and a completely unique learning experience for the entire family.
How much will it cost?
There is a registration fee of $125/Adult and $200/Child. This fee includes accommodation, dinners, breakfasts, nightly entertainment and daily activities at local towns. Fuel and lunches not included.
What do we need to bring?
As the accommodation will be at local camp grounds and showgrounds along the route, you will need to bring camping equipment for the family. As we may drive on dirt roads to get to some of our destinations, camper vans and trailers are not suitable.
What is involved?
This Gutsy Challenge will run from Monday 20th – Friday 24th September 2021.
For five days you will join the convoy travelling from Sydney to an undisclosed location near Dubbo, camping in local towns along the way.
- This Gutsy Challenge is an adventure road trip holiday that is planned with the whole family in mind.
- Treasure Road kids will decipher the clues to reveal the next location each day and collect stickers in their passports at each new location.
- Participants won’t travel for longer than 45 minutes at any given time.
- A chance to discover new things, people and learn about old places while raising funds and awareness for gastro-intestinal (GI) cancer research.
Where will we stay?
Local camp grounds and showgrounds.
How much do I have to raise?
A minimum of $4,000 fundraised per vehicle.
What will the funds I raise be used for?
100% per cent of all funds will be used to fund GI clinical trials research and the GI Cancer Institute’s ‘Innovation Fund’ grant. This grant is awarded annually and supports critical early stage research – enabling research concepts to be proven and ultimately leveraged to larger scale clinical trials.
