We are pleased to announce that our Gutsy Challenge treks in 2021 will all be on home soil! Due to COVID-19 we are offering two state-based treks, open to NSW and VIC residents.*
Itching for a holiday? Enjoy a well-deserved getaway and escape to the serenity of the great outdoors while enjoying the sights of some of Australia’s most epic landscapes.
Mt Kosciuszko Gutsy Challenge
In March 2021 Associate Professor Nick Pavlakis will lead the Mt Kosciuszko Gutsy Challenge to climb Australia’s highest mountain at 2,228m. By taking on this challenge in Australia’s iconic Snowy Mountains, you will support vital GI cancer research. This one-day/two night trekking adventure will take you to the rooftop of Australia with sweeping 360 degree views across the Snowy Mountains and the Victorian High Country. A Gutsy Challenge not to be missed!
Twelve Apostles Gutsy Challenge
Great Ocean Road, VIC
Experience a stunning walk to the Twelve Apostles rock formations along the beautiful Victorian coastline in September 2021. In this Gutsy Challenge led by Clinical Dietitian Belinda Steer and Associate Professor Lara Lipton, you will trek 46km over four amazing days, and will sample the most picturesque stages of the trail by walking past dramatic coastal terrain. A great way to escape the everyday hustle and bustle of city life, all while raising vital funds for GI cancer research.
To find out more about the benefits of joining a Gutsy Challenge trek, watch our interview below with Catherine Trevaskis who took part in the 2017 Larapinta and 2018 Tasmania Overland Gutsy Challenges.
*Please Note: Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19 border restrictions, we are encouraging only NSW and VIC residents to take part in these treks in their home states. These treks are still open to anyone willing to travel interstate, although each participant will be responsible for their own travel and quarantine measures where necessary.
