We encourage investigators to submit new research concepts for initial consideration as part of the GI Cancer Trials development framework. To put forward a proposal for prioritisation by the Research Executive Committee (REC), please complete the form below. Our concept review process

1. Submit your proposal

The first step is to complete and submit the Concept Proposal Form below. Once submitted, GI Cancer Trials Development Team will reach out to you via the email you have provided.

2. Committee review

Your proposal will be reviewed at the next Research Executive Committee (REC) meeting. The Committee typically meets monthly.

The Committee will review your concept, and will then prioritise your concept based on the following criteria:

  1. Alignment with GI Cancer Trials Strategy
  2. Scientific merit
  3. Feasibility (funding, investigational medicinal product procurement, site interest, treatment landscape, competing trials)
  4. Ability to build GI Cancer Trials research capacity and portfolio.

If the concept is approved to progress, it will follow GI Cancer Trials Research Prioritisation and Development Framework (RPDF) process.

Our Research Prioritisation and Development Framework provides a streamlined, collaborative process that reviews and refines research concepts based on scientific merit, feasibility, alignment with GI Cancer Trials strategy, likelihood of funding, and organisational and financial risk. 3. Outcome and next steps

Following the Committee meeting, our Development Team will be in touch to share the outcome of your proposal. If your proposal has been approved, the team will guide you through the next steps for peer review and further development.
