The annual Adam and Alex Memorial Golf Day was held in February to support GI cancer research. What began as a local fundraising event has grown into a tradition that raises vital funds and brings the South Coast community of Mollymook together.
This event was hosted by local residents, John Paduano, Dave Munro and the Lane family, in memory of Adam Lane and Alex Paduano, who both passed away from cancer. The friends and family of Adam and Alex have dedicated their time to support cancer research to find better treatment options for future generations.
The 2026 event was another incredible success with 130 golfers in attendance. Participants shared breakfast, great games of golf and laughs throughout the day.
The course came alive with a mix of enthusiasm and friendly competition.
A big thank you to Jeff Cuff, Chair of the GI Cancer Trials Community Advisory Panel, for attending the event and speaking about the vital role community funding plays in supporting people living with GI cancer.
Thanks also to the incredible generosity of the community, donors, event attendees and sponsors. More than $10,700 was raised – a phenomenal result!
This event is a testament to the power of community fundraising, and what can be achieved when a community comes together to support better treatment options in GI cancer for patients and their families.
The next Adam and Alex Memorial Golf Day will be held on Friday 26 February 2027 at Mollymook Golf Club.
