Pancreatic Cancer Research Workshop

Apply now for Sydney Quality of Life Office seminar and workshop

The Sydney Quality of Life (QOL) Office is holding a seminar and workshop in Melbourne on Wednesday, 4th December 2019 (10.30-4.00) on how to design and conduct a high quality clinical trial with patient-reported outcome (PRO) endpoints.

PROs provide unique information about the impact of cancer and cancer treatment from the patient’s perspective. This seminar and workshop, led by staff from the Sydney QOL Office, will address all aspects of PRO research from inclusion in trial protocols to the implementation of PRO tools and data collection in site practice to optimise data quality and minimise missing data.

Morning Seminar: An introduction to health-related quality of life/patient reported outcomes and how to incorporate them into clinical trials

  • Wednesday 4th December 2019, 10:30am – 12:00pm
  • ALLG office, Ground Floor 35 Elizabeth St, Richmond, Victoria.

The morning program will cover an introduction to PROs/QOL including key terms and definitions; why we include PRO/QOL collection in research; the value-add of PRO/QOL data, and how to include it in clinical research. The morning session will be relevant to all clinical and research staff as well as consumers interested in PRO/QOL.

Afternoon Workshop: Trial conduct – Guidelines for collecting high quality PRO data

  • Wednesday 4th December 2019, 1:00pm – 4:00pm

This session will be targeted at clinical trialists, trial conduct staff, or any other people working with PRO data (or collecting it). Attendees will gain technical and practical skills to more efficiently and effectively integrate PRO research into everyday workflow. A PRO checklist developed by the QOL Office will be provided.
