Dominic Colagiuri Memorial Cup – Supporting GI Cancer Research

There was a great turn out at this year’s Dominic Colagiuri Memorial Cup over the weekend. This is a five-a-side football competition put together by Vince Colagiuri, in honour of his brother who passed away from bowel cancer on 2 December 2014.

Friends and family of Dominic, including Vince & his cousins Mark & Adam Mansueto, participated in the tournament to celebrate Dominic’s memory and the passion for football he also had shared with them.

This was a great community initiative supported by the Kikoff Centre, in Marrickville, who provided the grounds, and Bakers Delight Revesby, who supplied the mid-tournament sustenance for the teams. The event involved over 30 participants and the games were refereed by father & son – Rocco & Anthony Logozzo, from St George Football Referees Association (pictured below) who kindly volunteered their time on the day.

All funds raised will contribute to GI Cancer clinical trials and ensure improved treatments for Gastro-Intestinal cancers, which prematurely took the life of Dominic as well as his mother Lina.
