At the beginning of this month I attended the ASCO Annual Meeting in Chicago. At the meeting it was clear that the GI oncology space is rapidly evolving, and momentum is building in the research community. Congratulations to all of our members who presented their work there.
The final program has been confirmed for the 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting. The meeting will be held from 21-23 August at Adelaide Convention Centre. I would also like to invite you to join us on the Degustation Adventure on 24 August – a tour through the famous wine region of McLaren Vale.
The Idea Generation Workshop is being held this Friday 21 June. Ten research ideas will be presented on a broad range of topics throughout the day. The ideas cover a broad range of topics and address key areas of unmet need.
This year, the Innovation Fund grant received a higher number of applications than ever before. The expertise of the members of this group was evident from the submissions, as well as the scope for future research. The winner of the Innovation Fund will be announced at the 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting.
Thank you for your continued contributions to the AGITG. I look forward to sharing future updates with you.
